What You'll Work On
The Plant Sanitation Supervisor provides guidance and direction of plant sanitation for research manufacturing operations. The purpose of the job is to implement food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance policies, procedures and training.
- Creates, drives and implements holistic plant sanitation programs, policies and procedures for research facility assuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and all food safety policies and procedures.
- Acts as sanitation support in the process of assessing and mitigating safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance.
- Collaborates/Coordinates with Facility team, Operations Leadership, and Operations Associates to achieve desired Environmental Monitoring performance and Pest Control performance.
- Evaluates facility sanitary conditions, assessing risk based on food safety and public health principles, prioritizing corrective actions, and verifying sanitation activities and validation testing.
- Acts as sanitation support during investigations of equipment and environmental monitoring over action limits, to define reaction plans and development of corrective actions.
- Ensures conformance to master cleaning schedule and applicable cGMP guidelines, best practices and requirements.
- Develops and implements all sanitation related training for sanitation and plant employees as needed.
- Works with relevant parties to ensure all safety requirements related to sanitation are met including proper chemical storage, MSDS, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and procedures.
- Maintains and writes detailed clean up procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures for all plant equipment, driving towards reduced water and air usage.
- Responsible for managing the site’s integrated pest control program.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and/or 5+ years’ experience in plant quality/food safety/sanitation
