About the role

Company Overview

The Physical Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transition of care.  They will coordinate and administer physical therapy evaluations and treatments for the outpatient programs. The responsibilities of this position include considering the needs and developmental level of infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients. 

 

Will provide comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization. Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patient and their family.  Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement, and facility committees.  Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in current changes related to scope of practice, coding and billing practices, compliant documentation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough and accurate physical therapy assessment/reassessments for infants, toddlers, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients according to department policy and APTA standards. Performs standardized developmental assessments in an accurate manner for appropriate patients in a timely manner. Challenges self to expand knowledge of new treatment interventions based on best practice
  • Develops therapeutic intervention goals and ensures implementation of plans utilizing physical therapy modalities and procedures in collaboration with the patient/family/multidisciplinary team.
  • Records accurate outpatient evaluation documentation/notes according to the established guidelines of the professional organization and departmental policy. Experience with electronic documentation.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s in physical therapy required
  • Doctorate in physical therapy preferred
  • Licensed in state of practice required
  • 1 years’ experience preferred in Ortho and pediatric
