The Human Resources Generalist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of HR processes, upholding compliance, and supporting employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle. This role focuses on maintaining data accuracy, enhancing the employee experience, and contributing to the strategic objectives of the People Team and Berkadia. The HR Generalist will also collaborate regularly with teams across the organization to deliver exceptional service to employees.

We Innovate to shape the future of CRE, so in this role you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, providing guidance and information throughout the employee lifecycle. Exercise independent judgment in addressing inquiries or escalating them as needed.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and departments (e.g., People Team, Legal, Payroll) to deliver exceptional service to assigned business units.
  • Act as a consultative partner to employees and leaders within the assigned business unit.
  • Assist in drafting and implementing performance improvement plans, supporting managers in fostering employee growth and development
  • Support investigations into employee concerns or complaints, assisting with documentation and resolution under guidance.
  • Manage the onboarding process for all incoming talent (employees, non-employees, temps, and interns), ensuring compliance and a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate personal and employment data for employees and non-employees, preparing and executing related documentation while adhering to established processes.
  • Conduct secondary reviews of employment documentation and perform final review of system updates to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure personnel files are accurate and thorough to meet compliance standards.
  •  Develop, review, audit, and file job descriptions, maintaining an effective archiving process.
  • Manage FLSA testing to determine exemption status of roles and stay informed about updates from the Department of Labor.
  • Conduct exit interviews for voluntary departures, document feedback, and inform the associated Business Partner of findings.
  • Participate in or manage various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have: 

  • Prior experience in a Human Resources role. SHRM/PHR Certification preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and problem-solver; consistently seeking opportunities for increased efficiency.
