BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) business is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 500+ multi-asset investment professionals constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS runs over $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London and throughout Asia Pacific.

Within the Americas OCIO group, the Endowments, Foundations and Healthcare Team constructs and manages portfolio solutions using Blackrock and third-party strategies across every established investable market including public and private asset classes. The Team is responsible for over $10 billion in client assets as of 31 December 2023, and this client segment is a strategic growth priority for BlackRock.

Role Description

The Team is looking for a motivated individual that will play a key role in our investment mandates by owning and supporting analytical projects that use their programming skills to drive investment decision making. There will be opportunities to apply those analytical skills to build out operational scale supporting the pursuit of new business opportunities and with existing clients. This person will also be encouraged to contribute to portfolio construction, research and analysis, and find ways to improve efficiency and timeliness of results. This is a great opportunity for someone which strong quantitative skills operating as a resourceful problem-solver within a dynamic team and get exposure to multi-asset investing by working closely with Client CIOs, institutional account managers, prospective and existing clients.

This role can be based in New York or San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Drive decision making and explain investment positioning and results by using, transforming and visualizing data sources to become useful insights.

  • Engage with internal teams throughout BlackRock to create and implement scaled Aladdin-based technology solutions to address investment and reporting needs.

  • Own internal processes including the updating performance track records, ongoing market commentary, and oversight of client reporting.

  • Support inquiries for current and prospective clients, including the ability to develop/modify financial models to provide responses derived from analytical insights.

  • Participate in the broader MASS investment research ecosystem.

  • Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the full suite of solutions offered by BlackRock and third-party managers across public and private markets.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification and proven record of academic achievement.

  • 3+ years of asset management experience, preferably with exposure to multiple asset classes or investment fields.

  • Strong expertise in Excel and coding languages (Python, VBA, etc.).

  • Not afraid to immerse oneself deeply into a financial model or analysis.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent teammate with a high level of curiosity, self-motivation, ownership and initiative.


 

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $147,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
