About the Role

At Blizzard, we craft genre-defining games and legendary worlds for all to share. Through unparalleled creativity and storytelling, we create immersive universes and iconic characters that are beloved across platforms, borders, backgrounds, and generations - only made possible by building a work environment that cultivates the artistry of game development and unleashes the aspirations of our people.

As a Senior Outsourcing Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting our creative efforts and collaborating with teams across different locations. You’ll help guide the development of important visual assets for an unannounced project, working closely with artists and other professionals to ensure quality and consistency throughout the process.

Work Location: This position is classified as hybrid, requiring onsite presence in the office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Remote work arrangements are eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project domain owner for external character, weapon, and vehicle art production.

  • Define outsourcing strategies and vendor selection criteria and negotiate contracts.

  • Collaborate with internal and external art teams to ensure high-quality environment art under the guidance of the outsource director.

  • Provide clear, actionable feedback from concept to final 3D execution, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with the project’s art direction.

  • Maintain best practices, quality control, and a cohesive visual style across all character, vehicle, and weapon assets.

  • Review, implement, and refine incoming and outgoing assets to support outsourcing workflows.

  • Mentor and develop mid-level and junior team members, often shaping departmental processes.

  • Lead internal and external teams through fluid or high-impact situations to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery.

  • Contribute to pipeline and workflow improvements to meet internal project needs.

  • Partner with art directors, leads, production, and design teams to deliver project goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of outsourcing management or equivalent experience in game development.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external artists to deliver industry-leading character and hard surface art.

  • Strong foundation in traditional art principles, with expertise in light, shade, color, and detail.

  • Proficient in human and creature anatomy, hard-surface modeling, PBR materials and texturing, and modelling for animation.

  • Intermediate to senior-level experience with AAA game engines and content pipelines.

  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills.

  • Ability to create detailed visual references, procedures, and engine requirements for external teams.

  • Passion for mentoring artists to maximize project impact.
