• Salary Range: $135,860 - $207,190 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
• CA Positions: A 10% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in San Jose, CA, and  San Francisco, CA, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.

Project Overview:

Bechtel has been appointed by The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) to provide Construction Management Services for Phase II (BSVII) of The BART Silicon Valley Program. The Program further extends the BART system from the Berryessa Station in north San Jose, through downtown San Jose, and continuing to Santa Clara. This landmark project is a six mile, four-station extension, linking the Phase I terminus at the Berryessa/North San Jose BART station to the Santa Clara Station in the City of Santa Clara. BSVII is planned to include a 54-foot single-bore tunnel, three underground stations, one at-grade station and a maintenance facility.

 

Job Summary:

The Estimating Manager will be responsible to manage the cost estimation associated with the Progressive Design Build Contracts. The estimating manager will establish specific cost estimating processes, procedures and provide cost estimating service during their full life cycle. The estimating manager will prepare and review estimates for changed scope, claims analysis and independent validation of information. The project controls team is working as part of the Client’s team and on behalf of the Client to provide management and oversight of the multiple small and large Contractors that are under contract with the Client.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manages the development of estimates from inception to completion. 
• Develops an achievable estimate plan, inclusive of budget, and leads the estimating team in executing the estimate. 
• Consolidates the estimate components and prepares the proposal cost volume and bid forms. 
• Responsible for assembly and timely submittal of escrow proposal documents.
• Reviews estimate and ensures quality and integrity. 
• Ensures lessons learned are incorporated into the estimate. 
• Prepares basis and assumption documentation.  
• Reviews design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness,
