The Opportunity
The Principal Interoperability Engineer will serve as the Interoperability SME and contribute to the strategic vision while leading the design, technical execution and delivery of healthcare interoperability initiatives. This role is pivotal in enabling secure, standards-based data exchange across EHRs, health information networks, payers, and third-party systems, supporting our mission to improve patient outcomes and become the most connected CGM in the market. #software
What You'll Do:
Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with marketing and commercial to contribute and drive the healthcare interoperability roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering teams to identify and prioritize integration opportunities.
Represent the organization in industry groups and standards bodies (e.g., HL7, iCode, Argonaut, IHE) as needed.
Architecture & Design
Design scalable, secure, and standards-compliant interoperability frameworks.
Develop and enforce architectural best practices for clinical and administrative data exchange.
Facilitate and lead detailed HL7 v2, HL7 CCD/CDA and FHIR interface mapping for use case scenarios.
Author technical specifications.
Technical Execution
Lead the development and deployment of APIs, data pipelines, and integration services for real-time and batch data exchange.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, 21st Century Cures Act, and other healthcare data privacy and security regulations.
Provide hands-on support for complex integration challenges and guide teams through technical decision-making.
People Management
Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on interoperability and integration.
Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.
