Work you’ll do
As an ICN Personal Monitoring Lead on the Audits Team, you’ll use your technical analytical, research, investigative, and leadership skills to:
- Work with team management as well as team leadership to help ensure personal independence compliance by helping to identify exceptions based on firm policy as well as regulatory rules.
- Identify root causes based on data compiled from audit results.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual observations to leadership helping to identify the causal factors and provide meaningful insight into remedial actions that can be implemented to help mitigate similar instances in the future.
- Perform audits and required procedures on firm leadership ensuring their personal independence compliance.
- Work to ensure the reviews of junior professional team members’ audit files are completed timely to meet both mandatory regulatory and firm deadlines.
- Communicate findings/make presentations to management team and leadership regarding findings and observations identified.
- Lead and execute special projects as requested by team leadership, including but not limited to opportunities to build more efficiencies into the personal independence audit process, work with Deloitte Technology to roll out software updates on an as needed basis, and coordinate technical consultations with other teams within ICN.
- Manage a team of 5 to 7 audit professionals.

Independence & Conflicts Network
The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) Personal Monitoring team performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules, and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors’ degree (preferably accounting, business or finance)
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising a team
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
- An understanding of personal independence compliance requirements for professional auditing firms
- Knowledge of financial instruments, such as equities, fixed income, REITs, securities accounts, etc
- A basic understanding of U.S. Federal individual tax returns
