Job Description
Automotive Steering Column LLC seeks Controls Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 7639 Turfway Drive, Florence, KY 41042. Maintain a machine, robot, measuring program, equipment prints, and documentation. Resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Resolve major programming problems, recognize, and secure external expertise when required. Debug and implement process improvements of assembly or manufacturing line controls. Design and optimize automated equipment concepts. Troubleshoot robotic to plc interface programming, modify it if needed. Maintain and modify vision systems. Assist maintenance personnel with machine problems. Conduct controls technicians personnel training, maintain technical skills. Complete special assignments, working knowledge, understand and be capable of programming in PLC language, i.e. (LAD) ladder diagram, (GRAPH) flow chart, (STL) statement list, (SCL) structured control language. Provide on call support after hours when needed. Develop and maintain systems for data acquisition and analysis. Maintain, troubleshoot and backup electronic and control devices, such as drives, vision systems, DMC readers, HMI’s and others. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer, Electronics Engineer, or other occupation/position/job title involving PLC programming on Siemens Packages (Step 7 and TIA Portal) in a manufacturing assembly environment. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electronics and instrumentation; (2) Developing and implementing software applications using C++, C# and SQL databases; (3) Performing electrical troubleshooting using multimeter and electrical schematics; (4) Creating and delivering technical presentations and work instructions using MS Office; (5) Troubleshooting and developing of programs for inspection devices such as Cognex and Keyence vision systems; (6) Troubleshooting, programming, and fine tuning of robot’s controllers, teach pendants and robots in general. Telecommuting: Remote Work May Be Permitted- 4 times a week in office.
