Department Overview
The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment. The organization will develop objectives to 1) prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment; 2) meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plan; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations.
Position Summary
The PSPS Product Management team is looking for a Principal Product Manager with experience leading Agile product delivery for new and existing technology products and technical, operational processes. The product manager will work within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to coordinate process and technology development for products enabling Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) planning and execution. The candidate is expected to have effective communication skills and demonstrate measurable business value. The candidate should be able to thrive in ambiguous situations and effectively delegate or drive tasks as needed.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
Bay Minimum: $140,000
Bay Maximum: $238,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply Agile methodologies to research and define user problem statements, use cases, and functional requirements for multiple products
- Perform benchmarking for alternative approaches and insights
- Identify improvement needs based on external and internal stakeholder input, measurement and evaluation, and gap analysis
- Apply Agile methodologies to develop prioritized project plans, product roadmaps, and resource assignments for multiple products
- Manage external and internal stakeholder relationships and oversee development milestones with transparency; appropriately involve necessary stakeholders for changes in processes or technology requirements
- Conduct user acceptance testing and product demo sessions as part of an iterative development process to ensure the deliverables fulfill specified acceptance criteria, achieve desired business outcomes, and include any documentation required
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset by conducting retrospectives and sharing lessons learned
- Support creation and delivery of process and technology training for end users including documentation, presentations, and in-person or virtual instructor-led trainings
- Provide regular written and verbal updates to leadership on project status, successes, and lessons learned
- Work closely with leadership teams to identify ways to collaborate and meet business objectives
- Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other IOUs, and providing content for regulatory processes
- Staff a rotating on-call shift in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for PSPS event planning and execution

Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Marketing, Psychology, or related
- Job-related experience, 10 years
