REPORTS TO:             Corporate Director of Operations – Courts Division

STATUS:                     Exempt

WORK LOCATION:     Cotton Court Hotel, Lubbock, TX

                                                                                                                                                           

JOB SUMMARY: The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the hotel. Required to meet or exceed planned revenue and profitability objectives. The General Manager manages all areas of the hotel in accordance with company and brand standards to achieve a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service, product quality, teamwork, and financial goals. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operation, including improving financial performance, operational and financial controls, service standards, ensuring optimal guest satisfaction scores, and developing and retaining a strong management and hourly associate team. Must have knowledge and experience in Upper Upscale and./or Luxury hotel and food and beverage standards and be able to independently inspect and ensure compliance to these standards.  The General Manager is responsible for communicating with hotel owners and corporate offices, as required.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sitting:  Frequently.  Padded office chair, chair with back for breaks and meal periods.
  • Standing/Walking:  Frequently.  Stairs, tile, rubber mats covering tile, concrete, padded carpet, marble, linoleum and gravel, etc.  Inspecting the property.
  • Crouching (Bend at knees):  Frequently.  Lifting, completing tasks performed at low levels, putting supplies and materials away.
  • Reaching (Overhead/extension): Frequently: Performing repairs, retrieving supplies and materials, updating shop board.
  • Kneeling/Crawling:  Frequently.  Perform plumbing repairs, carpet repairs,  
  • Stooping (Bend at waist):  Frequently.  Reading gauges and meters, lifting heavy objects, putting supplies and equipment away.
  • Twisting/Turning (Knees/waist/neck/back):  Frequently.  Perform electrical and plumbing repairs, reading gauges and meters, follow up on projects.
  • Climbing:  Frequently.  Ladders, step stools, and stairs.
  • Balancing:  Frequently.  Climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and carrying tools and equipment.
  • Enclosed Area: Frequently: Areas with restricted space such as ceiling spaces, etc.
  • Lifting /Carrying: Frequently:  Equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. Occasionally: Equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling: Frequently:  Equipment, carts, racks, etc. weighing approx. up to 100 lbs.  Occasionally: Equipment up to 150 lbs.

  • Interior of hotel, in all areas of hotel. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures

 

  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions

 

  • Exposure to various hazardous materials and chemicals

 

  • Travel required: Required for meetings, training, conferences and task force

 

  • Hours Required: 50
