As part of the HR team, the payroll clerk ensures the accuracy of employee timecards and therefore their paychecks. A keen eye for detail while providing excellent customer service to fellow employees is a must for this position.
Responsibilities
- Reviews timecards for missed punches, identifying high & low hours for each department.
- Performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and entry-level human resources tasks.
- Performs expanded wage functions and calculates RETRO earns and completes edits in Payroll application.
- Creates, distributes, audits, and maintains historical files for payroll distribution logs.
- Organizes and scans punch detail reports and missed punch paperwork.
- Research discrepancies initiate contact with employees and supervisors.
- Assists in Human Resources Assistant duties including greeter functions, I-9 Form identification verification, formatting photos & printing employee identification documents.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs./11kg.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check that could include a credit check.
- Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
- Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.

- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
