Hatch is heavily involved in emerging blue/green/turquoise hydrogen and its associated carriers: ammonia, methanol and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), in addition to other decarbonizing technologies such as gasification (biomass and waste), carbon capture, EOR, etc.

 

Hatch is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our growing office in Houston, TX.  This is an opportunity for a high energy, self-managed individual to work on diverse projects and technologies for local and global clients.  This is a senior leadership position, and the candidate is expected to have strong process experience, ideally having worked at an engineering and technology consulting firm.  

 

The role requires a proven track record in the development and delivery of process engineering outcomes including specific design and/or operating experience. The successful candidate will have 15+ years’ experience across the full life cycle, from conceptual/feasibility studies to FEED and detailed engineering in handling minor and major projects.   The work is varied and stimulating, covering pre-project studies and early phase engineering projects for greenfield developments, brownfield upgrades, emission reduction and hydrogen projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Execute technical feasibility studies, conceptual design, and process design and studies.
• Act as Process Lead on projects.
• Assist in the development and review of all the standard process engineering deliverables like design basis, process design criteria, HMB, PFDs and P&IDs among various others.
• Develop/Review process simulations (HYSYS and other process simulators) and heat/material balance.
• Review of vendor equipment quotes, drawings etc.
• Collaborate with project team to achieve project objectives. Interface with other departments, project managers, engineers, clients, and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface.
• Participate in studies for various climate change and decarbonization related engagements, to support our clients’ sustainability objectives.
