Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a skilled DevOps engineer to strengthen our team working on a Continuous Deployment (CD) software product. Our goal is to deliver a fully automated continuous deployment solution to our customers.

This product is designed to support the automated deployment and testing of software applications (specifically, Nokia network elements) at our customers’ premises.

By joining us, you’ll contribute to the development of this CD product, leveraging modern open-source components, integrating them with our own code, and driving it toward full productization.
 

As a senior DevOps engineer your job is to work in close cooperation with the development and product management teams and make sure that the software is ready for production deployments.

As part of our team, you will:

• Design, implement & maintain the software product by integrating already existing open-source or Nokia internal components plus developing new components to reach the aimed functionalities.
• Be involved in all phases of a development lifecycle: understand and analyse product requirements; find, reuse and integrate open-source or other components available on the market; develop new software code; implement non-functional features of the product using K8S framework; and finally take part in testing and verification.
• Participate in the teamwork following Agile/Scrum practices: You will estimate work amounts in own area, participate in detailed work planning and develop the tasks as a result of these.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and environments
• Daily cooperation with other Nokia teams worldwide
• Automate test scenarios, develop tools and scripts for repetitive tasks.
   

The ideal candidate should be in possession of most of the following technical skills:

• BsC or MsC in computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering or related field 
• 8-10 years of experience in software development 
• Linux configuration and scripting skills with the ability to run/configure applications on Linux
• Experience in some scripting language (like Bash, Python or Perl)
• Understanding and hands-on knowledge of container technologies (K8S, Docker, HELM)
• Knowledge of Jenkins based CI/CD environment
• Good understanding of IP networking
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
