Job Description:

The Senior Group Manager, Strategic Sourcing oversees / leads a team of sourcing specialists on all aspects of category management for assigned major category grouping.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Develops and implements Global category strategies employing category management and best practices
  • Develops and leads implementation of category and strategic sourcing strategies that support TD and business partner needs and objectives as well as help to mitigate risks to business and TD
  • Ensures effective delivery of SSG services to business partners and prompt and thorough resolution of all business partner issues
  • Provides guidance on outsourcing governance best practices and provides counsel to business
  • Works closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
  • Plans and executes on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Executes on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
  • Proactively identifies key business opportunities, researches and recommends enhancements / modifications, develops strategies to achieve recommendations and works closely with team to execute and implement
  • Monitors and communicates the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise
  • Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manage risks, and escalates non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assessing potential impacts
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
