Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Director for Operations provides professional administrative support for the Pryor Center of Arkansas Oral and Visual History with the goal of strengthening a significant program to collect and preserve the oral and visual heritage of the state of Arkansas. Responsibilities include management of administrative details/tasks, organization of schedules, budgetary unit accounting, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel, researching information, and preparing reports and materials and performs all associated Workday tasks. The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for editing oral history transcripts, writing and editing image captions and bios, and posting content to the Pryor Center website. The person in this position creates promotional materials, processes third-party oral history project materials, and participates in oral history workshops for the purpose of training others on the principals and best practices of collecting oral histories. This person also assists in maintaining the proper workflow and preservation of electronic and digital materials on NAS and LTO tape storage systems.
The position involves contact and interactions with the public. A pleasant demeanor, respect for confidentiality, and knowledge of accepted policies and procedures are essential. The incumbent reports to the Director
