Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Position Summary: Develop, implement, and monitor mission continuity and disaster recover plans, risk management processes, and a comprehensive insurance portfolio which help to ensure continuity of operations, identify and mitigate strategic and operational risks, and protect the assets of Johnson County Community College (JCCC).
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in risk management, insurance, business continuity planning, or related fields.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs that support a comprehensive community college.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management processes and strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mission continuity and disaster recovery planning principles.
- Exceptional analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Strong presentation and reporting capabilities for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead through influence, build partnerships, and manage complex initiatives independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a higher education setting.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or other relevant credentials.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a risk-based, college-wide approach to mission continuity, ensuring continuity of essential functions during and after disruptive events. The mission continuity program should include business impact analysis, identification of critical functions/processes, recovery strategies, training and awareness, and exercise and testing as appropriate.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across campus departments to create and maintain department-level business impact analysis, disaster recovery, and application recovery plans to provide a consistent and well-documented program to mitigate the effects of any interruptions.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies that effectively identify strategic and operational risks. Collaborate with campus-wide risk owners to document mitigation and response strategies on a regular basis.
- Protect the College from loss through recommending and directing the purchase of comprehensive insurance programs in areas including, but not limited to, property, cyber, general liability, educators’ legal liability, crime, and athletics. Manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and other TPA's. Conduct regular policy reviews to identify coverage gaps, evaluate premium cost, and ensure alignment with College needs. Oversee and perform administrative tasks such as communications, claims management, documentation, and ensure adherence to record retention schedules.
- Administer the College’s self-insured workers compensation program. Manage the processes, procedures, and financial aspects of the workers compensation program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks, in order to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace injuries.
- Coordinate workplace safety initiatives by providing training and outreach to the campus community through collaboration with campus departments, such as Human Resources, Police Department/Emergency Management, and Campus Services/Facilities. Promote awareness and understanding of workplace safety principles to help clarify shared responsibilities and foster a culture of safety and compliance.
