Description
Astrana Health is seeking a Lead Trainer - Learning & Development to join the team in a professional role requiring the regular exercise of discretion, independent judgment, and initiative in performing core job responsibilities. This position is designed for an experienced learning professional who operates with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The Lead Trainer is responsible for assessing organizational learning needs, designing and implementing effective learning solutions, and delivering training programs that support workforce capability, employee development, and organizational performance. This role partners with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to evaluate needs, determine appropriate instructional strategies, and develop scalable learning solutions aligned with business priorities, including AI-related transformation efforts.
A primary responsibility of this role is independent facilitation and execution of training across multiple formats and audiences, including enterprise-wide sessions, leadership development programs, and ad hoc learning requests. The Lead Trainer is expected to determine delivery approach, adapt content to audience needs, and make real-time facilitation decisions to ensure learning effectiveness and alignment with organizational objectives.
This position performs professional-level work directly related to workforce development and organizational effectiveness. Work is characterized by the ongoing exercise of independent judgment in evaluating training needs, selecting and adapting instructional methods, and recommending learning solutions that may influence employee performance and business outcomes. The role operates with minimal day-to-day supervision and is accountable for managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality learning experiences across in-person and virtual environments, including LMS (Litmos) support and administration.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled facilitator and learning professional who demonstrates strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across the organization. Success in this role requires initiative, accountability, and the ability to influence learning outcomes in a complex, enterprise setting.

What You'll Do
Learning Program Design, Facilitation & Delivery
- Design, development, and delivery of learning solutions (in-person and virtual) aligned with organizational strategy and business priorities.
- Exercise independent judgment in selecting instructional methods, facilitation approaches, and content design to meet diverse learners and business needs.
- Apply adult learning theory and instructional design expertise to drive measurable improvements in learner engagement, knowledge transfer, and performance outcomes.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using data, feedback, and performance trends; independently identify gaps and implement enhancements to learning programs.
- Facilitate high-impact sessions with executive presence, adapting in real time to audience dynamics, business context, and emerging challenges.
- Navigate complex, sensitive, or ambiguous situations during training with sound judgment, professionalism, and composure.
- Design and deliver programs supporting onboarding, compliance, leadership development, and workforce capability building.
- Partner cross-functionally with leaders to assess learning needs, recommend solutions, and influence training strategies that impact organizational performance.
- Demonstrate ownership by proactively identifying opportunities, solving problems, and continuously improving the learning experience without direct supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
LMS (Learning Management System) Administration (internal/external)
- Serve as a secondary system administrator and subject matter resource for the AstranaLMS (Litmos).
- Analyze LMS data and training metrics to evaluate learning effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Configure courses, manage reporting, and support system enhancements aligned to learning strategy.
