About the role

Mariner is currently seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Sales Lead Desk Management Vice President. The VP will oversee the daily operations of the Sales Lead Desk, guiding a team of lead generation and sales support professionals. This role will be responsible for optimizing lead generation processes, implementing strategies for lead qualification, driving sales conversions, and ensuring alignment with our overall sales objectives. The VP will collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to maximize revenue opportunities and achieve business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Desk Strategy & Management:

  • Develop and execute the sales lead desk strategy, optimizing processes for lead generation, qualification, distribution, and conversion.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Sales Lead Desk, ensuring efficient workflows and accurate lead data management.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to align lead desk operations with overall sales targets, quotas, and objectives.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor a team of lead generation professionals, sales support representatives, and other relevant personnel.
  • Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and drive results.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture that encourages teamwork and accountability.

Lead Qualification & Distribution:

  • Ensure the effective use of lead scoring, qualification models, and CRM tools to prioritize and distribute leads to the appropriate sales teams.
  • Monitor and improve lead flow, ensuring that the sales team receives high-quality, sales-ready leads.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze sales lead desk performance metrics and provide regular reports to executive leadership.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize lead processes, identify areas of improvement, and recommend changes to drive efficiency and conversions.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with marketing to ensure alignment on lead generation campaigns and inbound lead strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to create feedback loops that ensure lead quality and sales success.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, customer success, etc.) to refine strategies and implement process improvements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies related to lead generation and sales processes.
  • Drive innovation within the sales lead desk function, continuously seeking opportunities to optimize tools, systems, and strategies.

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of successfully managing sales lead desks, sales operations, or lead generation teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, lead qualification, and sales pipeline management.
  • Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales automation tools.
