BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Revenue Staff Accountant conducts and documents routine financial analysis, calculates monthly Revenue accruals, and provides support to the business by answering questions and providing financial information used in decision making, as well as presents monthly financial data to Accounting Leadership.  The Accountant works under the general supervision of the Supervisor and Lead Accountants to assist in generating business improvements within an assigned area.  The Accountant also performs accounting tasks including manual journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis, and complex calculations.

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related field

 

EXPERIENCE

Oil and Gas accounting experience preferred

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Applies the principles, theories and concepts of accounting to assignments such as preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reporting.
  • Develop and apply an understanding of financial and accounting analysis and problem solving
  • Calculate and book monthly Revenue accruals
  • Present monthly financial results to Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis Leadership
  • Provide support to the Operations team by focusing on superior customer service, thorough analysis, and technical accounting guidance
  • Assists in identifying, developing, and implementing process efficiencies
  • Works with Supervisor and Lead Accountants on complex tasks and projects
  • Other duties as assigned

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and oil and gas accounting
  • Able to communicate financial and technical information clearly and concisely
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft 365 skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks and manage deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Practice safe work habits at all times
