Meet the team:

Dexcom is seeking a Software Engineer I for its Cloud Engineering team to lead automation efforts across the R&D Platform.

As a member of the Cloud Engineering team, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, embracing the latest technologies and best practices. Your role will involve extensive expansion of automation related to cloud infrastructure, application deployment and orchestration, and observability.

Where you come in:

  • Develop tools and APIs to run automation, send notifications, generate documentation, generate/process events,

  • Contribute to designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and resilient infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Help construct a dedicated frontend solution to ephemeral cloud environment deployments.

  • Build containerized environments that ensure high availability, security, and efficient resource utilization. Collaborate with development teams to streamline the deployment and scaling of applications.

  • Evangelize available automation platforms and drive a culture of effective self-service.

  • Continuous learning, build cool stuff and grow!

What makes you successful:

  • 0-2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages and an understanding of data structures

  • Daily use of version control, i.e., git, and code repositories like Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, or similar. Experience with Github Actions and/or other CI tooling is a plus.

  • Self-guided with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, able to synthesize complex tasks into discreet problems with iterable solutions.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, along with experience working with remote teams, e.g., asynchronous communication tools.

  • Understanding and some experience using containerization technologies like Docker or Rancher and orchestration tooling like Kubernetes, Openshift, or Docker Swarm.

Ideal if you also have:

  • Experience working with cloud environments and APIs, e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Coding experience in Go (preferred), Python, Java, or equivalent languages.

  • Experience in the Medical device industry and HIPAA regulations.

Experience and Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience.
