ROLE OVERVIEW  

As a newly public company, LifeStance is developing and implementing compensation programs to attract, reward, and retain top talent to achieve our mission. The Sr. Equity and Compensation Manager will have the opportunity to make a major impact on compensation programs and the financial wellbeing of clinicians and team members participating in our incentive plans.  

One of the primary responsibilities of the Executive Compensation & Stock Plan Manager will be to administer the Clinician Long-Term Incentive Plan, an annual stock award program with thousands of eligible participants.  

In addition, the Sr. Equity & Compensation Manager will evaluate compensation benchmark data for executives and senior management and administer annual and long-term incentive plans. As the owner of all stock-based compensation, this role will play a key role in facilitating our equity plan, maintaining plan compliance, and will act in close partnership with internal departments and external partners.

COMPENSATION: $130,000 - 170,000/year 

LOCATION: This position is fully remote and can be performed anywhere within the United States

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support the implementation of the Clinician Long-Term Incentive Plan, including participant eligibility, award agreements and related shareholder communications 

  • Support the implementation and administration of compensation programs and initiatives which include base, annual incentive and long-term incentive programs 

  • Prepare deliverables for the compensation committee meetings and respond to ad-hoc requests from senior management 

  • Forecast potential incentive compensation plan design changes and their financial impact 

  • Provide data to formulate recommendations for total compensation reviews based on compensation benchmarks, considering internal equity and external competitiveness 

  • Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze data to determine our position of pay to the market 

  • Manage annual compensation processes and audit HCM system to ensure compensation-related data are correct 

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of compensation management and maintain knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, Securities and Exchange Commission regulations related to compensation to ensure compliance. 

  • Administer equity plans, including processing RSU and option grants, online grant process, exercises and releases, cancellations, and terminations 

  • Maintain custom reports and perform complex reconciliations to review accuracy of equity and transaction data 

  • In collaboration with accounting teams, conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of all equity-related transactions, including maintenance of the stock plan reserves 

  • Assist with employee training on, and policies related to, the equity program 

  • Respond to or direct inquiries and requests for information from executives, employees, investors, internal and external auditors, and regulators 

  • Provide reports for audit, tax, and legal/regulatory filing purposes (including all aspects of financial reporting as it relates to equity plans, i.e. 10Q, 10K, and annual proxy) 

  • Ongoing process improvements complying with SOX control requirements 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor's degree required 

  • 7+ years of experience in an equivalent role 

  • Thorough understanding of short- and long-term incentive plans, concepts, and design 

  • Experience preparing Board and Compensation Committee materials 

  • In-depth practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodologies 

  • Experience with a variety of stock plan products including Stock Options (ISO, NQSO, SAR), RSA, RSU, Performance Awards and ESPP plans 

  • Knowledge of ASC718 concepts (formerly FAS123R)
