Job Title: Senior Manager, Sensor Chemistry & Technology Scouting
About the Opportunity: The Senior Manager, Sensor Chemistry & Technology Scouting will be responsible for leading the technical scouting and exploration workstreams, including technical/scientific assessments, analysis of the competitive landscape, technology trends and new innovations in the Diabetes Care market, assuming ownership and accountability for workstreams. Location: This role will support our site in Valhalla, NY.
What you will be doing:
Be able to quickly identify issues and opportunities with technologies using data-driven analysis and evidence.
Identify targets, evaluate opportunities, support negotiation and oversee technical feasibility and development activities for potential partnerships, alliances, investments, or mergers and acquisitions that will contribute to the organization's short and long-term business goals. Able to develop financial modeling of potential opportunities with collaboration from Finance.
Provide strategic, technical and operational support to internal cross-functional teams to determine the viability of new opportunities, while leveraging proposals and feedback from the Business.
Drive collaboration among all stakeholders regarding technical evaluation of business opportunities as assigned, overseeing full cooperation and smooth interaction to ensure timely execution of evaluation projects.
Manage external relationships with potential partners to identify new business development opportunities and monitor competitive dynamics and maintain a strong internal network with key functions at the local, regional, and global levels to ensure credibility and effective leadership.
Lead and manage highly complex reagent and chemistry development, qualification and manufacturing projects as needed. Focus on implementing effective change control processes, driving cost reduction initiatives, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering innovation.
Serve as subject matter expert for questions and issues related to sensor manufacturing or performance.
Communicate, both written and verbally, key findings to a broad audience ranging from peers, functional leads, to senior management.
Have excellent time management and coordination skills in order to manage multiple projects progressing on different timelines.
The incumbent may be asked to participate in design reviews and act as an independent reviewer per requirements by US FDA 820.30, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 as part of design controls and new product development and change management processes.
What you need for success:
B.S in Life Science or Engineering
M.S. in related technical discipline; and Ph.D. and/or MBA preferred.
An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education can supersede these requirements: BS in a science major with at least 12 years of proven experience; MS in a science major with 8 years of experience; or PhD in a science major with 5 years of experience.
Extensive knowledge of new product development processes related to medical devices, manufacturing practices, design controls, as well as having a deep understanding of FDA regulatory issues to evaluate new strategic opportunities.
