Summary:


Promote healthy eating and nutrition to patients and employees; create individualized or group meal plans to ensure patients and employees obtain the nutrition they need; assist in creating and administering employee wellness programs

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or dietetics and successfully completed the Registration Exam for Dietitians, must possess Idaho Dietitian License. Must have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a registered dietitian, preferably in a health care setting. CPR certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills, including excellent telephone etiquette.
  2. Exceptional customer service, time management, and multi-tasking skills required.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills required.
  4. Competency in personal computers and related software, including Word, Publisher, and Excel required.
  5. Ability to design instructional courses to promote health and wellness

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the identification of patient health education needs through health assessment activities. Provide nutritional education and support based on these assessments.
  2. Establish structured SMART goals with participants to achieve success.
  3. Contribute to the development of the company’s wellness programs.
  4. Administer the company’s wellness programs.
  5. Develop a monthly nutritious meal plan.
  6. Promote nutrition through public speaking and community outreach programs.
  7. Heritage Health staff have an active role in our Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. This role is designated as part of the Heritage Health PCMH Care Team.
  8. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.

Safety:

Heritage Health enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe working environment. Each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements, participating in emergency response tasks as requested, and serving on safety committees and teams as requested. In addition, employees must accept the responsibility for maintaining the safety of themselves and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions, promptly reporting and/or correcting all hazards or unsafe conditions and providing feedback to supervisors and management on all safety issues.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

Office staff is required to stand, sit, and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. They are required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel over two-thirds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occurs one-third of the day. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occur less than one-third of the time. Communicating by talking/hearing occurs over two-thirds of the day. Amount of time spent lifting or exerting force is about 50% for up to 10 pounds and less than one-third of the time up to 25 – 40 pounds. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 pounds. Must be able to manage efficient keyboard use, hear, see, speak and read.
