About the role

This position is responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the Administration/Finance Department of Bell Bank. This position produces high-quality, professional support that is accurate, complete and fulfills the intended purpose. This position presents a positive image to employees and customers contacted on a daily basis. The responsibilities of this position also require a high level of confidentiality to be maintained at all times.

Primary Duties:

  • Mortgage Accounting Auditor
    • Responsible for borrower mortgage accounting audits
    • Identifying, researching and resolving discrepancies
    • Reconciling related general ledger accounts on a daily and/or monthly basis
  • Deposit Coordinator
    • Record and prepare deposits on a daily basis which includes data entry into various accounting systems and balancing with cash amounts received.
    • Maintain accuracy of all accounting data and backup records filed for ease of research for month end or any other inquiries by management.
    • Record and balance merchant credit card payments from customers and balance in all applicable systems
    • Process credit card refunds when appropriate
  • Accounts Payable Assistant:
    • Process various check requests to support mortgage operations on a daily basis
    • Assist and backup accounts payable process. This includes distributing invoices for manager approval, verifying proper use of GL codes and cost centers, coding invoices for input and generating expense checks as scheduled.
  • Accounting Support Functions
    • Provide assistance for outgoing wire requests and related reconciliation procedures.
    • Verify data for purchase of loans as needed for the sale of loans to investors.
    • Special projects
  • Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.
  • Know and practice LOCBUTN, our Golden Rules, and Bell Bank Customer Service Standards.
  • Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Required:

  • 1 to 2 years of Accounting experience preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and expertise with using the telephone and other office equipment.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately learn new software systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for dealing with employees, various vendors.
  • Ability to present a professional image at all times.
