Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Savannah, Georgia is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer.

SUMMARY

            The Continuous Improvement Engineer is an intermediate-level engineering position that requires knowledge of engineering principles and experience in the application of principles. In this role, the engineer will demonstrate the capability to perform normal work assignments without requiring detailed instruction and will be given some degree of technical authority in these work assignments. The engineer will also be given technical assignments of increasing technical difficulty working under the supervision of more senior engineers or management to implement process improvements using effective planning practices through applications of project management, lean manufacturing, and standard industrial engineering tools. This would include coordination of the respective production processes to achieve on-time project completion based on contractual requirements and operational lead times.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• • • Successfully managing complex improvement projects throughout lifecycles - origination, definition, planning/analyzing, implementation and maintain
    • Champion Kaizen improvement events targeted towards increasing operational performance consistent with the business plan. Lead both direct and indirect co-workers as necessary to meet all business goals
    • Lead and facilitate 6S activities and ensure long-term sustainability
    • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines for applicable improvement projects

 

• • • Effectively manage and prioritize work across multiple projects and cooperatively deploy LEAN & Continuous Improvement methods into the organization

 

• • • Develop recommended projects, identify opportunities of improvement and document accordingly
    • Develop and maintain tools such as process maps for project and process improvement efforts

 

• • • Develop, maintain, and monitor relationship and operational performance and metrics such as productivity

 

• • • Identify methods to improve the capture of key metrics and supporting reporting of metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost

 

 

• • • Lead and coach peers and work teams in efforts
