Police Dispatcher On Call (Certified)

Responsibilities:

• Operate phone systems to process emergency and non-emergency calls
• Manage and prioritize calls
• Contact local Fire and EMS for response to emergencies
• Process alarms
• Dispatch officers to calls for service utilizing a radio system and computer-aided-dispatch
• Operate a multi-screen, multi-computer console to receive and process phone calls, alarms, access control to buildings, building alarms, and surveillance cameras

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States
• Must be a Virginia DCJS Certified Dispatcher
• Must be VCIN certified 
• Must be able to work (days/evenings/midnights) including weekends and holidays and any overtime when required to meet operational needs
