Responsibilities:
- Operate phone systems to process emergency and non-emergency calls
- Manage and prioritize calls
- Contact local Fire and EMS for response to emergencies
- Process alarms
- Dispatch officers to calls for service utilizing a radio system and computer-aided-dispatch
- Operate a multi-screen, multi-computer console to receive and process phone calls, alarms, access control to buildings, building alarms, and surveillance cameras
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States
- Must be a Virginia DCJS Certified Dispatcher
- Must be VCIN certified
- Must be able to work (days/evenings/midnights) including weekends and holidays and any overtime when required to meet operational needs
