Job Description:

Enterprise Risk Management is looking for a talented and enthusiastic financial services professional to join the Risk Identification, Catalog, and Measurement (RICM) program to execute against an expanded program mandate and enhance our risk identification capabilities. This role will include the review and analysis of bank and industry deliverables, whitepapers, processes, and exercises to advance the Bank's ability to identify "Key Risks" facing both CUSO and Enterprise operations. You will also interface with senior leaders across the business segments and risk functions to assess the direct and indirect impacts of emerging risks. Additionally, you will support the Bank's Top and Emerging risk process that drives key reporting through the Board. Furthermore, you will support the RICM program's governance processes (Standard, Procedures, Processes, etc.). This role will also support program's issues management and remediation efforts. The successful candidate will enhance all levels of program reporting, maintain program documentation, expand their industry and bank knowledge, challenge the status quo, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Here is the essential job function for this position:

  • Assess and analyze a wide range of risk identification processes and exercises quarterly,
  • Identify an inventory of key and emerging risks facing Bank operations and portfolios,
  • Establish meaningful partnerships and influence 1st and 2nd Line of Defense stakeholders to enhance our understanding and development of risk statements pertaining to emerging risks,
  • Assist in the generation and integration of ERM risks, measurements, and vulnerabilities,
  • Develop quarterly reporting deliverables for council, committees, and the board,
  • Management and lead remediation efforts related to issues management for the RICM program,
  • Maintain program documentation and support multiple levels of program audit/review,
  • Ensure risks are appropriately identified, managed, and assessed across the enterprise,
  • Assist downstream utilization of the RICM program by management, risk programs, and stress testing initiatives,
  • Work closely with Bank leadership to understand first, second, and third order impacts of risks,
  • Advance "Automation" capabilities within Enterprise Risk Management and enhance RICM program reporting,
  • Assist with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system buildout and alignment with Enterprise risk management processes (e.g., Merlin) and reporting, and
  • Execute against mandate scope that covers all business lines and corporate functional areas in the Bank.

 

The Senior Group Risk Specialist provides a comprehensive and diverse range of risk management expertise to business leaders. Leads and supports the implementation of appropriate risk frameworks and leading related management activities to mitigate enterprise and/or business-wide risk exposures for key business segment of the Bank or functional area. May provide oversight, commentary, and recommendations based on overall strategy and industry best practices.

Depth & Scope:

  • Recognized as top level  expert within the company and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas
  • Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders and governs requirements for own work
  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function’s or business segment’s strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas
