THE JOB:
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible to lead, manage and execute the designing, development and operationalization of data integration, engineering and data platform services to support enterprise data programs. This will include developing production-grade code through vision, designing, developing, testing, deployment and operation support. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Lead, develop, and implement end-to-end production-grade data integration and engineering solutions, from vision and design through development, deployment, and ongoing sustainment, ensuring seamless integration with business and technical requirements.

• Expertise in SQL, Cloud and Legacy Technologies, Python, Unix, and Database Technologies. Proven ability to work with diverse tech stacks and integrate legacy systems with modern cloud solutions.

• Experience in cloud technologies like Azure and Databricks.

• Collaborate with technology leadership to identify, evaluate, and implement new tools, technologies, and techniques aimed at optimizing platform performance and enhancing the customer experience.

• Partner with Product Management to ensure that data design, engineering, and implementation align with product vision, business needs, and user expectations.

• Experience working in Production support model with troubleshooting and handling P1/P2 tickets with SLAs.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams at all organizational levels to effectively communicate technical solutions and secure stakeholder trust and buy-in.

• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges, providing innovative and effective solutions to improve system functionality and meet business needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of experience delivering data integration, data engineering service and data platform solutions.

• Experience in Cloud Technologies such as Azure and Databricks.
