Reimagine how advertisers connect with audiences during live moments. As Principal Product Manager - Technical for Live Events Optimizer, you'll define the vision and strategy for Amazon's purpose-built programmatic solution that transforms real-time advertising during sports, entertainment, and premium live content. You'll own end-to-end product delivery—from user experience and reporting to pacing algorithms and delivery systems—while driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure advertisers capture peak engagement at scale.

Key job responsibilities
Define and execute a multi-year strategic vision and roadmap for Live Events Optimizer, balancing innovation, evolution, and resource allocation
Own end-to-end product lifecycle—from advertiser user experience and reporting to pacing engines, forecasting models, and delivery architecture
Drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Applied Science, Sales, Supply, and Marketing to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions
Engage strategic advertisers and agencies as a primary point of contact, resolving critical reliability issues during high-value live moments
Build investment proposals and decision narratives to secure alignment from executive leadership

A day in the life
As a Principal Product Manager for Live Events Optimizer, you'll balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving real-time advertising solutions during high-stakes live events. You'll collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize pacing algorithms and forecasting models, engage directly with advertisers to resolve critical issues during major moments, and work with sports leagues to expand programmatic inventory. You'll present multi-year roadmaps to executive leadership, troubleshoot reliability challenges under pressure, and mentor junior product managers to align product and engineering priorities. Your work ensures advertisers capture peak engagement while delivering seamless, scalable experiences that redefine live events advertising.

About the team
We're the Live Events Optimizer team—a collaborative, cross-functional squad at the intersection of Amazon's premium live content and advertising platform. We span Product, Engineering, Applied Science, Sales, and Go-to-Market, building solutions that empower advertisers to reach audiences during the moments that matter most. Our mission is to redefine live events advertising through innovation, measurement, and scalability. We move thoughtfully yet quickly, solve complex problems, and own outcomes end-to-end. You'll collaborate with Principal Engineers, Data Scientists, and industry leaders to shape the future of real-time advertising.

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 6+ years of end to end product delivery experience
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Experience owning data-centric products
