Information Services Project Manager

(This position will involve on premise work in Indianapolis, Indiana)

IU Health is seeking a Project Manager to join the Informatics and Information Services (IIS) Project Management Office (PMO) for the New Downtown Medical Campus Program. This position is essential for providing technology solutions for the New Downtown Hospital Campus, facilitating communication and collaboration between IIS, the operations planning team, the construction teams, and operational end users. 

The ideal candidate will have experience with large healthcare organizations and demonstrated success in large-scale projects through managing cross-functional teams. Applicants with project management, healthcare applications, or IT project management backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of the IIS PMO team for the New Downtown Hospital project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical operations, and design and construction, to drive project success.
  • Coordinate daily activities, communications, and issue resolution between IIS and operational stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication to ensure alignment and conflict resolution across all project teams.
  • Document and report project updates to leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Participate in workflow planning and validation sessions with hospital end users.
  • Identify potential risks or roadblocks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.

 

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in a large healthcare organization
  • Prefer experience with Epic EMR applications and/or Epic implementation projects. 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Requires an understanding of the Information Management principles, IT processes, Project Management Methodologies, architecture and technologies adopted by an organization.
  • Required experience with enterprise PPM (Project and Portfolio Management) tools.
  • Strong working skills with MS Office tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio etc. is preferred.
  • Preferred experience with contractor and vendor management.
  • Requires a demonstrated fundamental understanding of project accounting and financial management.
