Summary:
The position is a Maintenence Mechanic position with an electrical emphasis to join our team and maintain our rapidly evolving equipment automation for a continuously developing portfolio of products. Tools and PPE provided.
Schedule: Monday - Friday frpm 2pm - 10:30pm + overtime as needed
Pay: $34.36 ($0.75 shift differntial)
*Pay is set by the Union and non-negotiable
What you'll do as a Maintenance Mechanic:
- Must be qualified and capable of performing skilled machine and lathe work and performing major and general mechanical, electrical and pipe fitting work as well as a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises.
- Must be capable of performing various types of welding operations required for repair and installation of equipment.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by assisting in the following areas.
- Receive parts, tools, labels, and supplies into the Storeroom and check against the purchase order for accuracy of receipt.
- Maintain stock inventory by entering required information, maintain bin cards, storeroom requisitions, and employee issue files as required.
- Generate purchase requisitions as required and forward to the appropriate authority for approval.
- Must maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures).
- Responsible for keeping the storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean always.
- Must exercise extreme caution to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must always exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees.
- Must comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures, including but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry or fall protection.
- When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area.
- Is responsible for keeping the storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean always.
- Responsible for a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises (i.e. HVAC, plumbing,).
- When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor or lead person.
Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety labels, machine instruction manuals and schematics.
- Basic math, data entry, and writing skills.
- 2+ years of maintenence experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent trade school equivilant experience.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles:
- Working knowledge of AC/DC theory.
- Experience with low voltage 12-24 VDC to 480 VAC three phase wiring.
- Basic understanding of arc flash and lockout tagout.
- Ability to:
- Troubleshoot machine control circuits.
- Maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (I.E. cGMP and ISO procedures).
- Perform skilled machine and lathe work.
- Perform major and general mechanical, electrical and pipe fitting work.
- Read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform various types of welding operations required for repair and installation of equipment.
- Experience working on boilers and/or boiler certified.
- Industrial HVAC experience and/or certification.
- Previous experience servicing machines like: fillers, packaging machines, labelers, palletizers, lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
Other:
- Must comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures including, but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, line breaking or hot work permits.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by communicating to the Lead or Supervisor when minimum quantities of stock are reached and notifying the Lead or Supervisor when hand tools are defective.
