SENIOR REGISTERED NURSE SUPERVISOR

Position is eligible for overtime and $1.00/hour shift differential
This position may include a sign-on bonus of $3,500, which will be paid out over a one-year period at 6-month intervals (restrictions apply). Any employee leaving employment with the agency or moving to OPS prior to that timeframe will forfeit any additional bonus reimbursement. There is no guarantee of payment unless you complete the term of employment. If you leave prior to completion of the term, you are owed nothing by the Agency, and the recoupment of any previously paid bonus amount will be at the Agency’s discretion. Returning employees must have left the Department for a period of 12 months or more to be eligible for the sign-on bonus.

The FDVA State Veterans’ Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program
- From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.
- Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.
- Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a current Florida Registered Nursing License
- Must have a current CPR Card
- Must have supervisory nursing experience
- Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include not limited to, a Level II background screen and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a long-term health care environment (assisted living facility, nursing home, skilled nursing facility)
- Experience in staff development / staff education
Duties and Responsibilities:
Incumbent will provide quality professional care to our American Heroes to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident’s status and providing supervision and guidance to the RN, LPN, CNA and other Health Care. Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Ensure that the nursing personnel are following their job descriptions and that the residents are receiving total nursing care
- Receive notices of absences when nursing staff calls off, and coordinates assignments to maintain regulatory compliance and meet the needs of the residents
- Notify the Administrator and/or DON of any emergency situations in the building
- Make daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met
- Observe all nursing staff giving care at least once during an eight-hour shift
