In School Suspension Supervisor

The In-School Suspension Supervisor performs the following duties:

• Arrives before students arrive each day
• Provides supervision for students who are assigned an in-school suspension
• Works harmoniously with teachers, leadership and SPED Dept.
• Informs students of rules and regulations concerning in-school suspension
• Encourages positive behavior
• Supports teachers with logical student consequences and reinforcements
• Keeps room orderly and quiet at all times
• Offers assistance with assignments
• Support school wide incentives and rewards
• Participate in and attend school functions
• Attend all required staff meetings
• Other duties requested by supervisor

REPORTS TO/TERM:

• Principal and Administrative Staff
• This is a 10-month position.

Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; will accept an Associate's degree
• Valid (State) Teaching License preferred
• Must have knowledge of school's classroom rules, procedures and practices
• Must have knowledge of conflict resolution techniques
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and patience with the students
• Proven desire to make a difference in children’s lives
• 3-5 years’ proven success in an urban school environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
