VP of Business Development - Commonheart

About the role

Description

  1. Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with internal and external customers.
  2. Responsible for maintaining a positive image of Commonheart in the community, keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other key referral sources.
  4. Educate referral sources about the benefits and services provided by home health, hospice, home care and palliative care programs.
  5. Utilizes professional selling skills/techniques to development business partnerships and/or leads.
  6. Identify potential joint venture or acquisition targets and complete appropriate research on the prospective agency’s business.
  7. Assist President with financial analysis and negotiation of contract terms on identified joint venture or acquisition targets.
  8. Represent Commonheart at community events, conferences, educational presentations, and industry functions to build brand recognition (travel required).
  9. Obtain and maintain expertise within senior care services/products with a focus on Home Health, Hospice, Home Care and Palliative Care, and remain up to date on industry trends for new business.
  10. Create, implement, and maintain a business development system to track and guide business development activities. Use data from the system to guide strategic decisions and growth efforts.
  11. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and demographic data to identify new opportunities for expansion.
  12. Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure alignment of services with client and market needs.
  13. Interface with, coordinate with, and, as needed, assist the marketing and business development staff of Illuminus.
  14. Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, providing guidance and performance oversight.
  15. Design and implement training initiatives tailored to staff needs and organizational objectives.
  16. Collaborate on the development of marketing materials, campaigns, and strategies to increase awareness of services.
  17. Performs other similar duties, as needed.

Requirements

  1. Ability to relate well to team members, residents/ families, staff, churches, health care providers, and other business relationships in the community in general.
  2. Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  3. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and exhibit flexibility when needed.
  4. Must be self-starter, attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.
  5. Must be accurate, patient, socially poised, mature, and willing to do what is required to complete tasks.
  6. Proven success in meeting or exceeding growth targets in a competitive healthcare environment.
  7. Must be able to work with little supervision.
  8. Positive attitude and approach to change and improvements.
  9. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), related Social Media platforms, using CRM platforms to drive activities, and data analysis software.


Experience and Training

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management or related field.
  2. Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, with at least 3 years in the home health and/or hospice industry preferred.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
