Summary of Role:

Our GlobalFoundries location in Essex, VT is seeking a Central Utility Plant Technician to monitor systems in the control room and perform preventative maintenance on the systems. This is a Night shift position, working 8 hour shifts from 10PM to 6:30AM Monday - Friday, with some weekend coverage required. This role is fully on-site to support our semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems
• Perform mechanical System Assembly or Disassembly
• Proper system operation, preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, line support to customers in manufacturing, and assistance with equipment installs / upgrade projects
• Work Areas include but are not limited to: Wastewater Treatment, Building Maintenance, Central Utility Plant Cylinder Gas Services, High Voltage/Electrical, Chem Mix Operations, Off-Shift Maintenance/Operations
• Ensure high emphasis on safety, equipment reliability, and environmental rules and regulations

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.
• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

• Education – High School Degree or equivalent
• Experience – 1-2 years relevant technical experience, external candidates must pass technical aptitude assessment
• Familiarity with basic computer applications - including Microsoft programs: Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Excellent communication skills
• Travel:  0% travel required
• Fluency in English Language – both written & verbal
• Physical Capacity Demands:  Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed
• Schedule flexibility is important as occasional weekend coverage will be required
• Ability to work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Boilers and Chillers coupled with the ability to pay attention to details and run the equipment efficiently without stressing the system
• Mechanical / Controls Programming
• Industrial / Commercial System experience
• Understanding of system design parameters, safety / environmental shutdown scenarios, and controls of equipment
• Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range

$40,000.00 - $64,900.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
