We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Family Office Staff Accountant to join our team. The Family Office Staff Accountant will assist in the managing the accounting and reporting needs of high-net-worth individuals and their families, including financial statements, assisting in preparing tax returns, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for high-net-worth individuals and their families.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Maintain General Ledger(s) and interest schedules.
  • Coordinate with several internal departments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and investment portfolios monthly.
  • Assist senior accountant and managing director with the execution of key projects spanning many strategic areas including investments, estate planning, taxes, philanthropy, Art, and physical asset management.
  • Manage internal documentation and data retention procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to high-net-worth individuals and their families.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of related Accountant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of investing and tax preparation is a plus.
