Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Claim Finance Fraud Analytics team translates raw data into actionable insights and alerts designed to deter, detect, and prevent fraudulent financial activity. As a Financial Consultant on the Fraud Analytics team, you will evaluate reports of unusual trends and suspicious payment patterns, strengthen fraud analytics capabilities, and escalate issues to business partners to protect the organization from financial risk.

You will also perform accounting, finance and internal control functions, identify opportunities to streamline workflows, and support Claim Finance initiatives.

What Will You Do?

  • Prepare, evaluate, and validate fraud detection, financial and operational reports.
  • With supervision, perform analysis and interpretation of trends and unusual payment activity, collaborating with cross-functional peers to validate findings and escalate potential fraud concerns.
  • Analyze, interpret, and validate trends and variances in business performance, while partnering with cross functional peers on limited basis.
  • Support Claim Field partners with financial workflow troubleshooting and error resolution.
  • Assist with financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Learn and utilize appropriate tools and workflows to identify fraudulent activity and support the control environment.
  • Support the execution of the Fraud Prevention & Detection Framework under manager guidance.
  • Prepare and review financial activities for various lines of business, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Synthesize and present exhibits, results, and observations to direct manager and team members.
  •  Support your financial partners in the preparation of analyses to support business strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or professional designations such as CPA, CFE or comparable advanced professional education.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset to gather, interpret, and analyze data while identifying unusual patterns or trends.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Financial Analysis concepts and processes, and accounting practices and principles.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to pay attention to detail and effectively convey information.
  • Ability to leverage analytical skills access and gather data and understanding of what the data represents.
  • Eagerness to learn fraud detection techniques and internal control processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), basic programming knowledge, such as SQL and Snowflake for data querying and analysis, and familiarity with AI tools and application.
  • Working knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Time management/ prioritization skills and ability to solve problems and make recommendations.
  • Takes responsibility for decisions and actions.
  • Intermediate project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
