As a Proprietary Programs Chief Engineer Associate Director, you will lead a team in the design and development of state-of-the-art technologies in an exciting high growth, high technology program area of C4I&A products across multiple portfolios.  

  

In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop solutions for military customers. Your responsibilities will include:

What You Will Do  

  • Primary accountability for meeting technical requirements and scope for the program, including engineering costs and schedule commitments, and serves as the primary technical execution interface 
  • Lead and mentor multiple teams of intermediate and experienced engineering professionals, collaboratively setting objectives and strategies to achieve high-impact results, utilizing expertise in systems and project engineering.  
  • To define and guide program objectives and execution strategies to ensure successful achievement of targets.  
  • Effectively communicate and influence policies, practices, and procedures within the directorate, driving alignment and impact across teams.  
  • Oversee the execution of short to medium-term (1-2 years) operational plans or projects, contributing measurable results that support broader organizational goals, with a focus on both people and technical aspects.  
  • Tackle complex, undefined problems by leading investigations into root causes, leveraging extensive experience and cross-functional analysis across sites, geographies, and products to deliver solutions.  
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including executive-level leadership, ensuring alignment and transparency across the organization.  
  • Responsible for coordinating with IPT Leads and Program Chiefs across teams to ensure alignment and drive program execution forward. 
  • Partner with people leaders in developing workforce and staffing plans to ensure the program meets business requirements to support full program execution. 

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience on large-scale programs 
  • 5+ years of experience and demonstrated competence in technical leadership (project engineer or other technical lead) for large complex programs  
  • 5+ years experience in cross- functional collaboration within a matrix organization across various locations to effectively align with teams.  
  • 8+  years experience in EVM ( Earned Value Management)  
  • Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret prior to start date. 
  • 5+ Years experience in Agile processes 

Qualifications We Prefer  

  • Experience in system level development, requirements definition, analysis, integration and risk mitigation for large communications systems  
  • Experience in building teams to help support program execution 
  • A strong preference for applicants with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
