Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Senior Director, Supply Chain. The Senior Director, Supply Chain will be responsible for sourcing, ordering, and fulfillment of hard goods for all Springboard programming and the management of our two warehouses. A successful candidate will have experience in data-driven decision-making, process creation and implementation, people management, and adapting to changing business needs.
Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and school. We coach educators and family members to help kids learn to read by 4th grade. Springboard envisions a world in which all children have the requisite literacy skills to access life opportunities. The Senior Director, Supply Chain supports this goal by ensuring all program materials are received at the right time, in the right quantities, at the lowest overall cost. Springboard operates two warehouses: one in Philadelphia, PA and one in Union City, CA. Leading up to program seasons, we procure large quantities of books, incentives, and other supplies to distribute directly to participating school sites.
The Senior Director, Supply Chain will supervise the Warehouse Managers. The Senior Director, Supply Chain will report to the Senior Vice President, Operations, and work as part of the Business Strategy Team. Here are your priorities in the first year:
- You will develop our near-term and long-term hard goods strategy and roadmap.
- You will develop and implement KPIs to manage performance.
- You will relocate the east coast warehouse.
- You will ensure the Supply Chain Team achieves positive variance on budget.
- You will ensure the Supply Chain Team meets defined service-level agreements.
- You will ensure overall Supply Chain Team employee engagement scores improve from Q4 2022.
- You will establish safety scorecard metrics & begin to orient to them.
Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:
- You own and optimize end-to-end supply chain workflow from procurement to distribution
- Select diverse, values-aligned vendors and negotiate pricing and terms
- Source products and utilize data to inform procurement, ensuring we have enough in stock to fulfill orders without over-purchasing
- Create and standardize processes to ensure order optimization, systematic receiving and storing of goods, accurate inventory management, efficient product kitting and shipping, and smooth returns
- Ensure strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- You ensure supply chain operational excellence through robust KPIs and data-oriented management
- Create and manage team KPIs and collect high-quality operational data
- Establish continuous improvement agendas
- Ensure team meets service-level agreements
- You lead and manage Supply Chain Team operations and staff
- Lead the 12-person department responsible for vendor selection, product sourcing, receiving, storage and inventory management, shipping, returns, customer service, and printing.
- Manage safety and wellbeing of employees.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and set and maintain productivity standards
- Manage performance across the team, set goals and KPIs to ensure accountability, and ensure clarity of priorities within and outside the team
- Set safety standards in compliance with OSHA and other pertinent regulations
- Build and maintain culture of best-in-class warehouse operations
- Attract, select, coach, and mentor team members to meet team objectives, with an emphasis on equity.
