The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant III for Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) – Perryville.
In this role, you will complete special projects as requested by the Deputy Warden, Associate Deputy Warden, and/or Administrator. You will serve as a primary point of contact for public inquiries, conduct research as needed, and respond with professionalism and accuracy. You will also draft letters and correspondence for the Deputy Warden’s signature, ensuring all documents are polished, executive-ready, and well organized.
Additionally, you will coordinate special events and meetings, manage planning and logistics to keep critical schedules on track, and support employee recognition efforts that celebrate the teams across assigned units.
- Researches and compiles reports, letters, inquiries, and policy updates
- Manages supervisor calendar
- Sets deadlines
- Supervises subordinate staff
- Researches material and gathers data for special projects
- Maintains inventory control, develops or modifies procedures and forms, interprets and explains organizational rules, regulations and department orders
- Attends meetings
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures
Principles and practices of administration and management; agency or program rules, regulations and operating procedures
Accounting and budgeting procedures
Departmental policy and procedures; management and supervision
Skill in:
Verbal and written communication
Maintaining interpersonal relationships
Organizational; project management; and composing correspondence
Ability to:
Plan, analyze, and coordinate activities and establish priorities
Develop effective operating procedures
Assess situations and make sound decisions
Interpret policies and procedures; and work in a prison environment
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
