Role Description

Flexsys has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer at its Sauget, IL location. This position is responsible for day-to-day process engineering support. The Process Engineer will not have direct supervisory responsibility but will assist with this function when needed. This position reports to the Department Area Manager.


Responsibilities include:

  • Identify improvements and optimize processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities, develop, and coordinate plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety and competitive position.
  • Supporting troubleshooting
  • Debottlenecking
  • Expansion efforts
  • Creating plant tests
  • Improving on-stream time
  • Participating in incident investigations
  • Developing operating procedures
  • Performing training

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or other related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing role
  • Experience in process control and configuration
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks at a time
  • Strong planning, organization, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills and a desire to provide “attention to detail"

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP
