Summary
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to strategic initiatives to facilitate engagement between IIA Global and its affiliates around the globe. The Specialist will help manage the engagement strategy, track and manage all engagement metrics and provide regular reporting on the engagement performance.
This position will represent The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) with affiliate leadership, volunteers, IIA members, and other external parties requiring the utmost professionalism and ability to build positive relationships across various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational abilities, a problem-solving attitude, an aptitude for fostering positive relationships, teamwork and leadership skills, and a customer-oriented mindset.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate affiliate engagement initiatives that will allow The IIA to strengthen its relationships with its global network and gain an understanding of global membership needs and issues impacting the internal audit profession.
- Track engagement initiatives with affiliates and provide support with follow-up activities and action items.
- Create reports reflecting the data gathered on workshops, calls, and briefings.
- Provide support on activities related to the International Relations Committee, such as onboarding, communications, agenda development, presentations, and volunteer recognition.
- Support in the management of in-person and virtual meetings.
- Provide support in maintaining affiliate relationships by acknowledging conferences, milestones, and best practices.
- Support affiliate communication efforts by gathering news and announcement from internal and external stakeholders.
- Applies a consistent affiliate/member-centric focus to resolve issues and update affiliate /member records accordingly.
- Help develop HQ activities that foster a global mindset.
- Provide support with travel and event logistics.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills needed to interact with a diverse body of lay leaders, donors, professional staff, and other stakeholders.
- Operate as a member of the Global Relations and Advocacy team to support operations and routine tasks as required and on special projects as assigned.
- Help develop and maintain all department processes and procedures.

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced call center preferred.
- Experience with an international organization is an asset to any role within The IIA.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Multiple language ability is an asset in any role with the IIA.
