Are you a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse looking to make a significant impact in the field of forensic mental health? We are seeking talented individuals to join our multidisciplinary team in the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS). As a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Case Manager, you will work collaboratively within a professional and experienced team, providing high-quality mental health care to complex forensic clients. You will be a clinical expert and a vital resource for nursing, medical, and allied health staff, ensuring that we deliver the best possible outcomes for our consumers and stakeholders.

The role:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) works as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality forensic mental health services and in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist - (CFMHS) will:

  • Be a clinical expert in the area of mental health nursing practice and act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs. 

  • Provide specialist liaison and consultation about mental health matters and management of associated problems to Adult Community Mental Health Services, and Non-Government Agencies to ensure best possible outcomes for consumers and relevant stakeholders.

Details of Appointment

Permanent day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible

RN:

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

Allowances:

  • Correctional allowance of 6.5% 
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
