We're looking to hire a part-time Pharmacy Technician to join our McKesson team! Our ideal candidate will be a licensed pharmacy technician in the state of Texas, with the ability to fill prescription requests and check for accuracy. This part-time Pharmacy Technician prepares, packages, and distributes medications in a fast-paced production environment. You'll maintains continuous, consistent workflow in order to meet daily production goals and have the ability to work productively either independently or as a team. Schedule: Sunday (4pm to 10pm or until complete), Wednesday (4pm to 10pm or until complete), and Friday (12pm to 6pm or until complete). Please note Sundays and Fridays are mandatory, but there could be some ability to flex the Wednesday to shift to Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Read computer generated screens to find indicated merchandise on labeled shelves, verify size and strength of the product before filling order
Replenish medication in automated cells to full capacity, opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product
Basic mathematical reasoning to either count or calculate appropriate number of units needed to fill prescription
Use of handheld scanner unit to scan barcodes of product for replenishment
Place pharmaceutical products in appropriate containers and affix labels to containers in bulk
Demonstrate problem resolution skills: ability to recognize, address and escalate issues
Maintain focus and acute attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks with absolute accuracy
Perform cleaning and maintenance on all cells/cassettes as needed
Monitor inventory for expired or short dated pharmaceuticals
Maintains the pharmacy floor in a clean and orderly condition
Assists Inventory Dept with scheduled cycle counts
Understands and abides by federal and state HIPAA laws as well as pharmacy standard procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy
Processes orders for shipping including folding/packing paperwork and attaching shipping label
Assists in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory
Sorts orders by store location and places in totes for shipping using handheld scanners
Receives and stores incoming product from DC occasionally
Complies with policies, procedures & SOP’s
Adheres to and promotes the Company’s Shared ICARE Principles
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Good standing current Pharmacy Technician license required, and pharmacy technician license must be kept valid throughout the term of employment
Previous pharmacy experience preferred - typically requires 3+ years of related experience
Working knowledge of pharmacy operations and professional standards
