Mobile Lead Teacher

Description

 The teacher will be responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of children who  are 3-5 years old. The teacher will need to be committed to fostering positive relationships with student’s  families to improve students' learning experience and meet developmental milestones. Classes are offered  four days a week and teachers have a planning day once a week. Under the supervision of the Mobile  Preschool Coordinator, teachers will work to maintain and implement appropriate activities for children aimed  to enhance growth and development while maintaining PA Performance Standards and state licensing  standards. Teachers will also maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and well-organized classroom.  

Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks: 

1. Provide Emotional Support through establishing a positive climate, being aware of and responsive to children, and encouraging child expression and autonomy. 

2. Use positive behavior intensive support strategies for behavior management: clear behavior expectations, be proactive and redirect misbehavior.

 3. Provide instructional support through concept development, fostering children’s analysis and reasoning, engaging in feedback loops, and modeling and supporting high-quality language in both  English and Spanish. 

4. Using the Creative Curriculum, design developmentally appropriate lessons and select appropriate instructional materials to meet students learning needs and instructional outcomes. Ensures that lesson plans align with PA Learning Standards. 

 5. Manage classroom activities including lesson plans, play, bathroom breaks, and snacks. 

6. Establish positive and productive relationships with the home care providers and families, building rapport and trust, by keeping positive communication with both the providers and families and responding to concerns with professional and cultural sensitivity. 

7. Ensure the health and safety of the children at all times 

8. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated (often in the field) as well as the ability to work as a team in a co-teaching model 

9. Work with co-teacher to collect appropriate anecdotal notes and assess the progress of each child in the group. 

10. Assure all required classroom data entry, documentation and record keeping is completed in a timely manner (i.e. daily lesson plans; required assessments and Parent/Teacher conference forms; daily attendance; daily health and safety forms, program surveys; children educational files and portfolios, anecdotal notes, etc.) 

11. Ensure that classroom arrangement, materials, and displays are conducive to children’s learning and  meets the Creative Curriculum standards, ECERs/ NAEYC and CLASS requirements. DocuSign Envelope ID: 9E0C8236-FFEE-473D-952A-247BE6C94954 R.v 6/23/2020 

12. Strive to meet School Readiness Goals. 

13. Analyze Child assessment data to plan, monitor progress, and individualize. Also, align assessment with instructional goals and standards and use assessment results to monitor progress and adjust instruction in literacy, mathematics, and science in both English and Spanish. 

14. Complete ASQ’s developmental and social-emotional screenings on all children within the first two weeks of program. 

15. Complete Pre and Post Bracken assessments on time in both English and Spanish. 80% of transitioning students should meet the minimum benchmarks.  

16. Integrate IFSP’s/ IEP’s or referral action plans for children with diagnosed or suspected special needs. 

17. Complete daily bus inspection before driving the bus to the assigned location. 

18. Arrive at designated locations on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or bachelor's degree or graduate-level work that includes coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education. (Official transcripts required to validate educational credentials.) 
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a comprehensive preschool program. 
• Ability to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at-risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to converse, read and write Spanish and English (preferred). 
• Commitment to dual language learning (English and Spanish). 
• Demonstrated ability to implement the use of appropriate curricula and instructional materials to  enhance teaching and learning.
• Awareness of Puerto Rican culture/community (preferred). 
• Ability to analyze and use data to inform decision-making. 
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet, and e-mail.
•  Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History,FBI, and National Sex Offenders  Clearance (required).
