We are seeking candidates for the position of Planning & Material Availability Analyst (3046) in the PSC/Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Salary Range: Min: $57,512.00 - Mid: $71,890.00 - Max: $86,268.00 

       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Assists SEPTA Operations garages. Identifies and supports the material needs of maintenance personnel at all SEPTA facilities , including regular and scheduled visits to assigned locations. Interacts with Directors, Assistant Directors, Foreman and mechanics; identifies material needs; communicates material needs to SEPTA Vendors; conducts delivery audits inside customer locations; completes audits in ASI and INFOR.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs frequent site visits to all SEPTA locations with an emphasis on customer service. Focuses on development, support and growth by interacting with Operations personnel. Troubleshoots inventory issues based on customer feedback.
  2. Supports a wide range of customer base with all needs related to the supply of products/commodities. Eliminates stock-out situations by analyzing inventory levels, anticipating needs and communicating with key customer contacts at all assigned locations.
  3. Understands contracts and how it relates to constraints on items. Interfaces with Contract Administrators to implement any changes needed to the contract.
  4. Identifies areas for continuous improvement in the execution of the program inside customer locations.
  5. Ensures command over INFOR, ASI and Excel spreadsheets to provide related solutions to our customer base.
  6. Analyzes contracted items, customer demand and supply chain inventory levels to identify items for inventory reduction/consolidation.
  7. Analyzes and makes recommendation to Manager to change appropriate min/max levels based on customer feedback and product consumption. Communicates program needs to vendors supporting the various program.
  8. Interfaces with all levels of Operations personnel. Routinely suggests, influences and implements process improvements, provides material availability updates, and provides emergent work solutions. Implements planning and process efficiencies.
  9. Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or a related field required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (i.e., one (1) year of post high-school education equating to two (2) years of related experience) in lieu of the above listed requirements. 
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to anticipate, develop, organize and maintain computerized systems to compile data and other statistical information required.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to initiate coordinate and execute special projects with minimal supervision required.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
     

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in Vendor Managed Inventory, supply chain, or procurement and logistics experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in mainframe applications such as ASI and VMIS systems preferred.
