What You’ll Do
The WSG Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for a portfolio of capital and operations projects that are performed in service to Samsung’s real estate and workplace-oriented assets and the employees who occupy those assets. The PMO does its work by developing, maintaining and adhering to best-in-class processes, methodologies, standards, metrics, practices and policies that achieve the high standards set by WSG, CFO Organization, & Samsung.
The PMO Sr. Manager oversees all aspects of the PMO, including communication, resource management, prioritization, governance, risk management, future planning / pipeline, team leadership, and quality control. The PMO Sr. Manager effectively balances proactive enabling of project delivery with excellent governance following the Samsung guideline with the knowledge of Samsung culture.
Location: Onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 5 days a week with an average of 5-10% travel per month

Essential Duties:
General:
- Ensure the PMO operates as a Center of Excellence within WSG and operate within Samsung culture.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders to ensure their involvement and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and issues.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business cases, project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant artifacts, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Resource Management & Prioritization:
- Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, financial, and equipment, to support project activities and enables the achievement of project objectives.
- Provide senior management with the information needed to assess and decide which proposals / business cases have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment for Samsung.
- Interface with senior management to define project priorities, implementation opportunities, challenges, while also communicating project risks and opportunities.
Governance, Risk Management & Quality Control:
- Monitor project performance against key metrics, identify deviations from the plan, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively, assessing impacts and communicating changes to stakeholders to maintain alignment with project goals.
- Seek and implement efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial expectations established at project initiation.
- Develop, implement, and govern project portfolio management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics.
- Monitor compliance with project policies and standards.
- Identify potential risks and issues associated with projects and proactively develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
Team Leadership:
- People Management: Coach and mentor project management practitioners – internal and 3rd party -- and build a sharable knowledgebase of best practices.
- Resource Management: Own the PMO organizational structure, and ensure it effectively balances internal project management practitioners, embedded 3rd party project management practitioners, and variable 3rd party project management practitioners.
