Job Description

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s School of Management is seeking a versatile Business & Project Management Lecturer to prepare and deliver multi-modality lectures to undergraduate, graduate, and/or dual enrollment students. Areas of focus include general business and introductory business management topics, operations management related coursework, and technical project management courses aligned with Project Management Institute’s Global Accreditation Center standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned courses, via in person and online modality (additional duties tied to online synchronous/asynchronous modalities, as needed) aligned with Introductory Business Management topics, General Business coursework, and technical Project Management curricula.

  • Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught for in-person courses and online office hours for online courses that may be assigned.

  • Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress, as well as any specialized accreditation requirements.

  • Work under supervision of Dean integrating and coordinating teaching efforts with other instructors and faculty members within the discipline areas.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business management, management, project management or relevant field

  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness for in-person and online teaching

  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Matters (QM) assessed teaching for online learning environments

  • Experience with a Learning Management System


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years college teaching experience

  • Experience with Hy-Flex learning modality and related pedagogical techniques

  • Terminal degree in business management, management or related field

  • PMP Certified

  • Other relevant Certifications

Definition of Non-Regular Appointment Track (NRAT) Faculty 

A NRAT member is a faculty employee of the university not on regular-appointment track (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor). A NRAT faculty member is employed for a specific period of time. No existing regular appointment track faculty position shall be replaced by a NRAT faculty position. The ratio of NRAT faculty positions to regular appointment track faculty shall never exceed one (1) NRAT faculty for two (2) regular appointment track faculty. 

Lecturers Position Overview

Lecturers complement the efforts and qualifications of regular appointment-track faculty and allow flexibility to address programmatic needs. The rank of lecturer may be assigned to faculty members who can provide effective instruction in areas that support the core pedagogical instruction provided by the faculty of the appointing academic unit. 

A lecturer may be reappointed to NRAT employment.
After the first one-year appointment based on satisfactory fulfillment of expectations, a lecturer may receive up to a three (3) year contract (1, 2, or 3 year). After the first one-year appointment, just cause shall apply to the lecturer and contract renewal shall be conditional upon satisfactory annual performance, projected school needs and/or available resources. If a lecturer has served 
three (3) consecutive appointments as a lecturer, they shall receive a renewable three-year 
contract.
