Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Penn Museum’s Williams Director, the Senior Director, Finance and Facilities (DFF) serves as the Museum’s senior budgeting and finance executive and a key member of Director’s Senior Financial Strategy Group, as well as the larger Executive Team. The DFF oversees the Museum’s budgeting and financial operations, capital project management, facilities and housekeeping, and security functions. The DFF oversees and administers the Museum’s $27M+ operating and capital budgets and is responsible for the development and implementation of financial planning and managerial controls, and monthly reporting and analysis. The DFF oversees all facilities, housekeeping, and security.

Job Responsibilities

  • Finance and Budgeting: Administer and manage the Museum’s $27M+ operating and capital budgets with responsibility for management reporting to the Museum, the Provost’s Office, and Office of Budget & Analysis; develop and disseminate clear, monthly financial reporting systems that identify variances to budget in a timely way and prompt proactive strategies to address them, and clear and comprehensive financial reporting for each Museum department, center, and program on all applicable financial sources. Draft the annual budget letter and work with the Museum Director and the Senior Financial Strategy Group to identify any special funding requests. Directly supervise the Director of Finance.
  • Facilities & Housekeeping: Oversee facilities and housekeeping services with careful monitoring of staffing levels to ensure that the building is maintained in a safe, comfortable, and clean environment at all times within budgeted levels and avoiding unplanned overtime charges.
